On October 2, 2003 thirteen medical professionals and a crew from Telemundo, departed for Cochabamba, Bolivia. During the week in Bolivia, the team worked long and rewarding days. The surgical team preformed 52 surgeries, in addition to screening about 120 patients. In addition, the dental team treated about 80 patients and taught students useful surgical techniques.
This trip was made possible by generous donations from a variety of individuals, charitable groups, and companies. The Bolivian Charity Foundation and Agris Zindler Children's Fund worked extra hard in ensuring success of this trip. Other important support included Corporate Staffing and Church of the Holy Apostles.
Each patient that The House of Charity touched had a story, filled with the tragedy of a deformity and a hope of a new life. Each family displayed a gracious, humble and thankful spirit. Although we only helped a very small percentage of children, we did make a difference. From their eyes, it was a miracle, which was provided to them by the team and generous donations. Our memory of this mission is filled with smiles and words of appreciation from the beautiful people of Bolivia whom we served. We were so well received that infact it was hard to leave them.
We Miss You – We Will Be Back
Within us lies the belief and conviction that all the children we have helped, all the children we are helping, and all the children we will help are but our own children - they just happen to be born in different homes. With this belief we know, and we trust that all of our goals for 2004 Medical Mission to Bolivia will be accomplished because we can count on all of you for your continued support, help and generosity.
Enclosed is the pledge card with return envelope. Please mail your donations. Thank you on behalf of all the children whom we have worked with and their parents and families. Together, we are indeed making a difference!
May God Bless you all!
